Until now a plug and play remote starter for a BMW was non-existent, but ADS will ship in August, BMW and Mercedes remote starters under the iDataStart, Flashlogic and Omegalink brands, it said.
They work with a full T-harness for simple installation and drivers don’t need to give up one of their car keys to act as a bypass.
The new BMW and Mercedes devices are able to remote start the car from the factory key fob by pressing the lock button three times.
They can be paired with optional long range remote transmitters and smartphone-controlled solutions.
Under the iDataStart brand, BMW and Mini models 2005-2013 are covered by the iDatsStart BM1 (http://www.idatalink.com/product/product/product_id/165).
iDataStart offers 3 products to cover most Mercedes models:
- iDatsStart BZ1 (models 2006-2013) (http://www.idatalink.com/product/product/product_id/166)
- iDatsStart BZ2 (models 2002-2012) (http://www.idatalink.com/product/product/product_id/167)
- iDatsStart BZ3 (models 2008-2013) (http://www.idatalink.com/product/product/product_id/168)
