Now that Apple’s new Lightning adapter is available, car radio suppliers and retailers have started testing the iPhone 5’s audio compatibility with various car radios.
Alpine announced that its in-house testing with the new Lightning to 30-pin adapter showed full audio compatibility with its car radio line.
“We are pleased to report that the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter now provides the iPhone 5 the same USB functionality with Alpine head units as previous iPhone generations.”
Apple still has not provided licensees information on how video will be extracted from the new iPhone 5. See story here.
Earlier in the month, Alpine provided a firmware update to improve compatibility of its head units with the iPhone 5.
