With the introduction of its RadioPro kits, Pacific Audio Corp. (PAC) began combining its steering wheel interface kits with its radio replacement kits to form a single SKU. The latest addition to the series is the RP5-GM32. It permits the replacement of a factory radio with an upgraded aftermarket radio.
The RP5-GM32 is engineered to interface seamlessly with the automobile’s computer data bus system and retain important safety and convenience features such as OnStar, steering wheel controls and factory amplified audio systems (including Bose if equipped).
Designed for use in select 2012 and 2013 GM vehicles using the 29-bit GM LAN data bus system and the 44 pin dock and lock connector, the RP5-GM32 retains all factory features, including all OnStar features, factory Bose sound system, turn-by turn navigation, back-up sensors, warning chimes, steering wheel controls, Bluetooth and factory-installed rear-seat entertainment.
It is compatible with OEM amplified or non-amplified audio systems, and incorporates outputs required by many navigation headunits, giving it greater versatility and offering even more radio replacement opportunities to the installer and consumer.
The complete kit comes with a RadioPro5 module, antenna adapter, vehicle wiring harness and accessory 12-volt output. No SWC programming is necessary, and the unit’s firmware can be easily updated via the Internet.
