Ford Cites MyFord Touch Screen Issues

Some owners of cars with MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch radios are having problems with the screen going blank or display problems with the back up camera.

TSB for MyFord Touch radiosThese are listed by Ford in a technical service bulletin (T.S.B.) dated April 27, which identifies some recurring problems consumers have with the radios on the 2011 Ford Edge, Explorer and Lincoln MKX, said the New York Times on Sunday.

Actually, the radios are subject to a lot of snafus including missing presets, lack of voice recognition, and dialing the wrong phone number, according to T.S.B. 11-4-18.  How about the screen freezing up during navigation, as I experienced on a recent trip to Virginia?

The T.S.B. is listed on Alldatapro.com, but we didn’t pay the fee to see it.  Drivers should bring the car to the dealer so the radio may be reprogrammed to fix the problems.

  1. Had the 2011 Explorer Limited just 3 days when the MyTouch went completely blank/black. Bringing to dealer tomorrow. Reminds me of the conversation I had with the APPLE rep in Best Buy – Apples don’t crash, don’t get viruses and never give you the ‘blue screen of death’ – oh why did I buy a FORD. Seriously LOVE The Truck – today I hate the Mytouch

  2. Memo to Ford: Welcome to our world! Where the quest to bring cutting edge electronics to consumers results in Not-Ready-For-Prime-Time products that hurt our image rather than enhance it. But here is the best part; WE NEVER LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES! We just keep doing it, and think that consumers will keep buying in!
